ARK’s Bite Blocks - For working on Jaw Grading and Stability
What is jaw grading and stability?
- Jaw grading is the ability to have controlled movements of the jaw to various jaw heights that are needed for speech and feeding skills. The jaw must open to different heights to accommodate different sounds and foods.
- Jaw stability is the strength, coordination, and endurance needed for these tasks without the jaw sliding forward and/or sideways.
ARK’s Bite Blocks are a great addition to any oral motor toolbox to help develop these skills. The Bite Blocks are firm for good resistance during jaw exercises but are not 100% rigid to be gentle on the teeth. Each arm also has gentle sensory bumps to grip the teeth.
