ARK's Butter Pencil Grips – Pack of 2 Grips

Created by Occupational Therapist Tina M. Butterfield, MSOT, OTR/L and developed by ARK Therapeutic, the Butter Grip is specially designed to promote correct finger positioning during writing tasks. Correct finger position not only encourages fine motor development but also improves handwriting legibility. The round shape of the Butter Grip serves as a tactile cue for the fingers to grasp around. The fingers "hug" around the grip and the fingertips rest just below the grip on the pencil. In this position, the Butter Grip opens up the web space, provides support to the finger muscles, and can help decrease hyperextension.

The Butter Grip is easy to use and is suitable for use a home, in school or in a therapy setting. It is recommended for children over 5 years old, up to young adults.

Useful features of the Butter Pencil Grips include -

• Suitable for both left-handed and right-handed users
• Fits standard pencils, most crayons, and most pens
• Also fits ARK’s Tran-Quill® range of vibrating sensory handwriting tools
• Can be used with short pencils, allowing the whole grip to rest in the palm of the hand
• Improves handwriting quality and reduces fatigue during writing tasks
• Ideal for those with fine motor skills issues such as Dyspraxia
• A second grip can be added to the other end of the pencil, to add weight for additional hand awareness

• Wash in warm, soapy water

Technical Information – Each ARK Butter grip measures approximately 1 inch (2.5cm) in diameter. This size is recommended for children aged 5 years and upwards, to young adult.
